Yahrzeit Memorials

Yahrzeit, meaning “year’s time” in Yiddish, marks the anniversary of one’s death according to the Jewish calendar. Traditionally, a yahrzeit candle is lit at sunset the night before the corresponding date and kept lit throughout the following day until it burns itself out. Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary is pleased to offer a number of services to help you observe these sacred ceremonies.

Yarzeit Reminder Service

Hillside is pleased to offer families a complimentary email reminder service to honor the Yahrzeit on the wish anniversary of a loved one's passing. Our memorial service includes:

  • Virtual Plaques: a virtual plaque to commemorate the life of your loved one and a virtual candle
