Sura passed away following a short illness. She was born in New York City, but lived almost all her life in Southern California, residing in Palos Verdes for the last 30 years. She is survived by her sister, Ruth, niece Janet, and nephews Michael and David. She worked many years in Los Angeles schools as a special education teacher for the partially sighted and helped many children to overcome their disabilities and succeed. She was also known for her activism on social issues, including the South Bay Democratic Club. Those who knew her will always remember her kindness, her creativity, and her smile. A service will be held Thursday, October 11, 2018, 2pm at Hillside Memorial Park in Culver City.
