Rose Linda Meltzer

Rose Linda Meltzer, 81, died Sunday January 8, 2023, at her home in Los Angeles, CA.  Born in Cleveland, OH, she moved with her family to Los Angeles in the 1940s.  She was a graduate of Montebello High School, and after years working as a registered nurse she went back to school at 45 years old and in six years earned a bachelor’s degree from Mt. Saint Mary’s, as well as her Masters of Social Work from UCLA, all while being a single mother.

After college, she worked as a social worker at Children’s Hospital in San Diego, UCLA, and while working at Vencor Los Angeles she met a wonderful man she later married, Dr. James Meltzer.   She loved sports, and was always the loudest one cheering at professional sporting events as well as those in which her three sons were competing. She also enjoyed traveling with James, her loving husband of 23 years.  She is survived by her husband James; her three sons Mark, Alex and Gary; her sister Nancy; and she loved very much her step son Gregory Karl Meltzer until his passing in 2019.
