Rosamund Berson

February 13, 1944 – December 5, 2023 Rosie Berson was born Rosamund Marjorie Mittler to Helen and Joseph Mittler in New York and raised in Santa Monica, CA . In 1962, she met Robert “Bobby” Berson, and the two were married on August 23, 1964. While in Chicago for Bobby to attend dental school, Rosie gave birth to her son, Brian. Three years later, after the family had returned to Los Angeles, their son Joey was born.

Rosie spent more than 40 years working as a devoted and loving elementary school teacher, primarily teaching kindergarten in the Santa Monica Unified School District. Her greatest joy, however, came from being the grandmother to Brian and his wife Dawn’s four children, Andrew, Brandon, Cole, and Danica, and Joey’s wife Aubrey’s children, Dylan and Vivian.

Rosie loved hosting parties for her friends and family and traveling with Bobby to countries around the world from Asia to South America. She will be remembered as a caring and generous wife, mother, grandmother and friend, with a smile that would light up a room and an infectious laugh.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 14th at 2:00 pm at Hillside Memorial Park in Culver City.
