It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our stepfather, Ronald Reiner. He was a beloved husband, step-great grandfather, grandfather and friend who touched the lives of everyone he met. He passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, in his hometown of Indio, CA.
He was born to Maury and Esther Reiner on May 5, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois. He attended and graduated in 1953 from Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles CA. He attended and graduated from California State University Los Angeles in 1960 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration He also served our country in the United States Air Force in the early 1960s. He worked in concessions at the LA Coliseum, Sports Arena, Dodger Stadium, and the Olympic Auditorium in the 60’s and 70’s while preparing himself to become a very successful insurance salesman for Merrill Lynch and Family Life in the 80’s and 90’s. Several times he was awarded top Salesman and Regional Manager in the country before he retired in the late 1990’s.
He made his home in the Los Angeles area until he moved to Indio, California in 2003, where he lived out his retirement years. He had a passion for playing tennis, skiing, swimming, going to the jacuzzi, playing card games, corny jokes, happy hours, and Jersey Mike sandwiches, especially #2. He had an affection for taking vacations and adventured on over fifty cruises. He was very proud of that accomplishment.
He is survived by his former wife, Alicia; his three stepchildren, Linda, Diane and Richie; his son-in-law, Gilbert; his two granddaughters, Nicole and Veronica; and his two great-grandsons, Cameron and Lucas; and his many cousins in the Los Angeles and Chicago areas.
He taught us how to be respectful and responsible adults and raised us as his own. We relish the memories we had as a family and will miss his guidance. Ron always had a profound impact on those who knew him, and he cherished moments spent with loved ones and friends.
We love you tremendously and will miss you deeply, Ron. You will never be forgotten. Rest in peace.
