Richard A. Dickes

Dr. Richard A. Dickes, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away on July 21, 2023.  He was 80. He lived in Morristown, New Jersey for many years and moved to Los Angeles, California when he retired.

Dr. Dickes was a psychiatrist treating patients in Morristown, N.J. for 45 years until he retired in January 2020.

He was born in 1942, the son of Dr. Robert Dickes and Bernice Dickes.  He is survived by his wife Ruth, his daughter, his son, his grandson, and his sister.

Dr. Dickes graduated from Columbia College in 1963 and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, (New York), in 1967.  He completed his Residency and Child Fellowship at Albert Einstein.  He served in the US Navy as a psychiatrist and was a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.  He was a member of the staff of the Morristown Medical Center where her served as interim chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and on the Credentials Committee.  He taught psychiatric residents, nurse practitioners and psychologists.  He served as President of the Tri-County Chapter of the New Jersey Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.  He was dedicated to the care of his patients.

Arrangements were under the care of Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in Los Angeles.
