November 10, 1929 – September 17, 2019 Phyllis Holzman was born Phyllis Silverman in New York, USA. She graduated with High Honors from the University of Arizona in 1950, attaining a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, and earned a Master’s degree in Political Science from Cal State Long Beach in 1970. She taught primary school for a number of years, political science at Harbor Community College, and wrote several romance novels. She moved to Los Angeles in 1950, where she met her husband, John Holzman. Phyllis and John were married in 1960 and settled in Rancho Palos Verdes in 1965, where they raised their two sons. After John retired in 1987, Phyllis and John traveled the world, and spent time visiting their children and grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Maureen (David) Vanevenhoven, sons, Barry (Jennifer) and Eric (Ingrid), granddaughters, Rya and Sabina, and grandsons, Conrad and Dirk. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 11 AM at Hillside Memorial Park, 6001 West Centinela Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90045.
