In Memory of Michelle Bochner Spitz
August 6, 1967 – January 10, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michelle Bochner Spitz, a devoted mother, loving wife, cherished daughter, beloved sister, niece, cousin, and dear friend. Michelle left us on January 10, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on August 6, 1967, Michelle’s life was marked by a deep well of kindness, an extraordinary talent for storytelling, and a steadfast devotion to the people she held dear, especially her husband and children.
She obtained her bachelor’s degree in English from Brandeis University. After she graduated, her wit and creativity led her to a successful career as a screenwriter. She delighted audiences with her work on the television series Will & Grace, Monsters at Work, and the animated film, Meet the Robinsons. Later in life, she also authored a children’s book. She loved comedy and on many occasions, she entertained others with her extraordinary, subtle, but hilarious sense of humor.
Michelle’s strength and grace were never more evident than in her battle with cancer. She faced her illness with courage, determination, and an unwavering spirit.
Above all, Michelle was defined by her love for her family. She was a nurturing wife and mother who celebrated every triumph and soothed every sorrow. Her presence in our lives was a gift, and her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
Michelle is survived by her husband, Andrew Spitz; her children, Ryan and Julia Spitz; her father, Dan Bochner; her brother, Dean Bochner, and his wife, April Armstrong; her aunt and uncle, Muriel and Jeffrey Waterman, and her cousins, Jeremie and Rachel Waterman, Adam and Cindy Waterman, Benjamin and Ashley Waterman, and Gabriel Waterman and Rachel Shames.
In lieu of flowers, the Spitz family respectfully requests that contributions in Michelle’s memory be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation
