Leon Levy

Leon Levy, 95, passed away gently and peacefully on Friday, November 24, 2023.
Leon was born on June 1, 1928, in Brooklyn, NY, to parents Allegra Arditte and Isaac Levy (both originally from Turkey). He was predeceased earlier this year by his loving wife, Rita, with whom they raised three children – David, Robert, and Carrie – in Inglewood and then Torrance, CA.
Leon’s Hair Design was a veritable institution for over half a century in Redondo Beach, where he served the greater South Bay community. Leon was passionate about animals of all kinds, liberal politics, social conversation, dark chocolate, and UCLA football.
He is survived by 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 7 nieces and nephews, and loving friends and family.
A celebration of Leon’s life will be held on Monday, December 4 at 10am at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Leon had requested donations in his name to the Rhodes Jewish Museum or Holocaust Museum Los Angeles.
