Joseph Cohen

Joseph Cohen of Torrance, California passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at the age of 96. Services were held at Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles and were officiated by Cantor Marc Bachrach.

Joe retired from the automotive industry at age 58 after an illustrious career. We liked to say that he was retired for longer than he worked. He graduated from Roosevelt High School and served his country in the Merchant Marines. He enjoyed family, exercise, travel, musical theater, and playing chess. He was a kind and loving man, one of the last vestiges of the “greatest generation.”

He was predeceased by his parents Abraham and Ida Cohen, his brothers Hy and Sol, his ex-wife Lynne Cohen, and his long-time girlfriend Reva Cotell. He leaves behind his loving daughter and son-in-law Linda and Eric Robins, and a son, Jeffrey. He also leaves behind three grandsons: Aaron Cohen, Jonah Robins, and Jonathan Cohen, as well as numerous nieces.
