Johanna K Mueller Sunkin

Johanna K. Mueller Sunkin was born on June 22, 1947, in Frankfurt, Germany to Henry “Heinz” Mueller and Sabina Goldberg.  Both parents were survivors of the Holocaust.  At the age of 1, Johanna and her parents boarded the SS Marine Swallow from Bremerhaven, Germany to New York City, finally settling in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  The family then moved to Southern California where Johanna attended Grant High School in Van Nuys. She appreciated music and fine art.  She married Stanley Sunkin in 1977.  She would go on to live the rest of her life in Southern California until her death on September 6, 2024.  Johanna is preceded in death by her parents, sister, and husband.  She is survived by her extended family.  She was laid to rest on October 2, 2024, at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary, next to her husband, Stanley.  One way to honor Johanna’s memory is to donate to the National Council of Jewish Women https://www.ncjwla.org/donate/ .  When making donations, please note “In memory of Johanna M.
