Herman ‘Kid’ Moonves, born in New York City June 4th, 1921, lived a long life full of family, love and simple pleasures. He died February 11th, peacefully at home, a few months shy of 100 years, a milestone his great-grandchildren eagerly anticipated.
He was married to his beloved Josie Schleifer Moonves (d. 2016) for 74 wonderful years and was ready to join her in rest.
He proudly served in the United Stated Army during World War II.
He was a life-long Dodgers fan, from Brooklyn to LA.
He was truly a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by wife Josie and first son Alan Moonves (d. 1978).
He is survived by his children Leslie Moonves (Julie Chen Moonves), Melissa Moonves (Yves Colon), and
Jonathan Moonves (Dianne Moonves); grandchildren Jacques Colon (Paula Jenkins), Alaina Moonves Leb (Alex Leb), Adam Moonves, Sara Moonves (Jeff Henrikson), Julia Moonves (Hannah Wolf), Ian Colon (Libby Leahy), Michael Moonves and Charlie Moonves; great-grand children Noah Kid Colon, Jack Leb, Judah Colon, Lily Jo Leb, Ari Moonves and River Colon.
