We are celebrating Evelyn’s long life that has now come to an end. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, marrying her husband Sam in 1949. They settled in the San Fernando Valley, where they raised their 3 children, Jan, Rick and Jerry. After Sam’s passing in 1996, Evelyn eventually moved to Westlake Village and then to University Village Thousand Oaks in 2013. Her last days were spent under the superb care of the staff at the Oakview Nursing Center. Evelyn was happiest when she was able to offer her time and energies to the people in her life. Whether it was her husband, her 3 children, her 4 grandchildren, her 2 great grandchildren, her nieces and nephews, her parents and brother, her friends or volunteering in her community, she received her greatest happiness in life by being there for others. Evelyn’s loving care and companionship brought joy to everyone she touched during her 87 years of life. Please remember her by recalling the happy times that you were able to share with Evelyn during her life. A service to remember Evelyn’s life is scheduled for noon on Friday, August 5 at the Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles (near the LAX airport). This will be a short ceremony of interment of her ashes next to Sam’s and a brief graveside service of remembrances of her life. Everyone would be welcome to share their thoughts and recall memorable life experiences of how Evelyn shaped their own lives. If you are unable to attend, feel free to send your thoughts and remembrances to Jerry and we will read them at the cemetery service. email—Jerry@Rutizfarms.com
