Eleanor Marks

We mourn the loss of Eleanor Marks, who died peacefully on May 19, 2023 in Tarzana, California, at the age of 97.  Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1925, Eleanor grew up in Canada and moved to the U.S. shortly after she married her husband, Sam Posner, who had returned to Winnipeg from WWII as a war hero and recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross from the Royal Canadian Air Force.  Sadly, Sam died at the young age of 37 after a long illness, leaving Eleanor with a young daughter.  Through perseverance and a strong will, Eleanor was able to build a life for herself and daughter in California, ultimately rising to be the controller of a real estate investment company.  She remarried in the early 1960s to Bernard Marks, who predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter, Cydney, and loads of nieces and nephews. A wonderful friend, wife and mother, she will be missed.
