Bernard Seymour Weiss passed away at his home in Los Angeles after a long and wonderful life. He was 90 years old.

Born in Flushing, New York, Bernard moved to Los Angeles in 1948 and went to Fairfax High. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Japan as a radar technician during the Korean War.

He married his beloved wife of 56 years, Elaine, in 1956. After her death in 2012, he spent the last few years of his life with his companion, Marsha Mermelstein.

Bernie was a brilliant entrepreneur. He graduated from UC Berkeley in Engineering, worked as an electrical engineer, and as a builder, developed many properties throughout the LA
area and Santa Barbara. However his most beloved job was being grandfather.

Bernie is survived by his children: Steve Weiss (Kelly Weiss), and Margie, Levy (Jon Levy), his grandchildren Alex Weiss, Jake Levy, Zachary Weiss and Sofia Levy, his brother David Weiss and his companion, Marsha Mermelstein.

He was predeceased by his wife Elaine, and his sons, Martin and Mark and siblings Harold, Albert, and Renee.
