Amy Rabins: a mentor, friend, mother, grandmother, artist, accountant, and fierce business woman. She was born in Ramat Gan, Israel. She immigrated to Chicago at three years old and went to Van Dusen high school in Skokie, Illinois. At 18 years old Amy moved to Los Angeles, California. She married Manuel Rabins in 1960. Amy had a career in the motion industry working for Burt Sugarman Productions and later worked at New Media Entertainment as head of motion picture finance. She worked with the actress Eva Gabor as a personal accountant. She started working for Buena Vista Pictures starting a low budget division that oversaw “Honey I Shrunk the Kids”. Amy worked for Warner Brothers as head of Motion Picture Accounting and then moved to Dreamworks Animation as a consultant at PDI and Aardman Pictures. Amy Rabins with Don Mink started a production accounting company, Prep Shoot Post, that supporting the production accounting needs on many independent films. In her spare time she was an oil painter and volunteered with many charities. Amy left us after losing her battle with stomach cancer. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Rabins Mathern and Lynn Rabins, her son-in-law Gary Mathern, and two grandchildren; Mikaela and Arin, and his wife Ariel.
